The "sonic" tech is just a rumble motor taped inside the handle just above the battery compartment. Note that I did not spend money on this product lol. We would not recommend using this tool on delicate or fuzzy, knit fabrics as they could be snagged. Not to worry though, as our tester said that it did not snag more durable materials such as upholstery and carpet. It's quite labor intensive and does require several swipes to fully pick up all the hair in one spot.

Still better than dragging out my vacuum each day just to clean the couch & bed. I have two cats - one being a medium hair tortie and her hair is all over the place.
